(e.g. Urine Test, Saliva Test, Medical History, Dietary Evaluation, Lifestyle Analysis, An In-Depth Consultation about your body systems deficiencies or excesses and A Recommended Program to help balance your Body System. *Trichologists are certified professionals who specialize in the examination and treatment of hair breakage, hair loss and other hair and scalp maladies.)
Hair Loss and Scalp Treatment
At the end of your consultation you will be given a professional opinion on the cause of your hair loss or scalp problem and an explanation of the best approach to its management. At The Sehat Scalp and Hair Clinic, we pride ourselves on using a holistic approach to hair loss and scalp problems wherever possible. We will often suggest lifestyle and diet changes based on what you have mentioned during your consultation. To support these changes and speed up the recovery, we can recommend high quality dietary supplements, hair loss treatments and topical scalp treatments to use at home. Not only is this holistic approach beneficial to your hair and scalp health, most patients notice increased energy levels or better skin quality as an added bonus.
Hair Mineral Analysis
Hair mineral analysis is a soft tissue mineral biopsy. An analysis of a body tissue, in this case to detect mineral levels. HMA provides a reading of the mineral levels in the cells and interstitial spaces of the hair over a three-month period. HMA is a screening test and by definition is not intended to diagnose any medical disease or condition. It is a relatively simple and painless test that can provide information quickly and inexpensively. A useful test for detecting nutritional imbalances and heavy metal toxicity, which can help take some of the guesswork out of recommending supplements and dietary changes.
The test entails cutting a small sample of hair from the nape of the neck, approximately 1 gram, using the first 4cm of growth from the scalp. Hair that is colored or permanent waved cannot be used. The sample is sent away to a laboratory, the levels of each mineral are measured and the results are returned to myself in the form of a chart. I frequently use this test in hair loss cases. Often results show mineral imbalances, deficiencies, excesses and toxic metals that would have been almost impossible to discover without the test.
